Simon Cowell has not kept it quiet on how much he loves and wants Mariah on the show. Now that season 2 is coming and most of the judges have been cut, Simon couldn't want Mariah even more.
Now Cowell, 52, is trying again to woo Mariah, 41, who was unable to take part last year having just given birth.
At the time, Cowell said: “I adore Mariah, I love her to bits.”
But his hope she would be able to take some sort of role in the live finals proved to be in vain.
An insider at the show explained: “Simon wants nothing but the best for the X Factor – and Mariah is the best.”
But her husband, Nick Cannon, has already indicated that Mariah will turn down the offer.
Describing it as a “step down”, he added: “Why would my wife want to be on a show like that?
“For somebody who has a legendary career, I don’t know why they would.”
Cowell also admitted he had set the bar too high when he targeted ratings of 20 million for the US show. It managed only 12 million.Time willl tell.
